Local Knitters get a “Bootie Call” from The Yarn Underground

Oh, it isn't what you think... The booties in question are of the fuzzy footwear variety, popular in nurseries and playgroups. A local knitting shop is hosting a baby bootie knitting competition to benefit Motherwise Midwifery, Fruitful Vine Midwifery and the families they serve.

The co-owners of The Yarn Underground, LLC, both former clients of Motherwise Midwifery, are looking for a way to add some warmth to tiny toes this winter. Participants in the knit-off will compete to fill gift bags with hand-knit slippers to be distributed to babies born at home on the Palouse.

The competition will run from February 13th to the 27th and will culminate with prizes for each of the three following categories: “Most Awesome Booties”, “Fullest Bag of Booties”, and “Most Booties Knit with Yarn from The Yarn Underground”.

For more information, contact Marisa Gibler or Shelley Stone at The Yarn Underground, LLC. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00am - 7:00pm and Sunday noon - 5:00pm and is located downstairs from Deadbeat Records at 114 ½ East 3rd Street, Moscow.
